Early Bubbas head for the Hillz again this week. Whole Foods @ 4:00.
No TB ride this Saturday.
Roll at 8:30 EDT from little white church in Sequatchie Valley for a 50 miler up to Pikeville and back. See map for start point and route.
Of course option 2 always exists. Chase TB on their ride.
Option 3 – Roll from Battlefield at 9am for 3+/- hours. Rain cancels. Park int he lot on the NE corner of the traffic light diagonally across from the visitor’s center.
Roll from Mike’s Hole @ 8:30 for the old 3-state metric. Over Suck, East Valley, 299. Regroup at the store after the descent, at the bait store (refuel), and at the end of 299. A metric and 3500 feet but add the nature center loop to get more up (high achievers may even climb to Sanders).
Heat index of 97 so early Bubbas have opted for the cooler route. Roll from Whole Foods at 4:00 for Hillz.
More info on Tuesday routes in Other Rides section.
Early Bubbas get the worm in Red Bank this week. Roll from Old BiLo @ 4:00 for Hotwater loop.
More info about Tuesday rides in Other Rides section.
King will lead a ride departing from St. Elmo Food City at 8 am that we call the Food City Hog Jowl Loop. 53 miles. See map for details.
Another scorcher this Sat with a heat index of 97 by 2:00. So here are those words which always bring a wry smile to Flymanator: EARLY START. With the early start we’ll split the driving distance and roll from Mike’s at 8:00. Over the toe, Creek Rd, up 136. Regroup at Sunset to make the quick trip over the top a bit safer and then down 136 with a store stop at the bottom. Back Marble with the Dry Valley kickers at the end although we can come back the easy way if it’s really cooking by then.
Early Bubbas roll from Whole Foods this week @ 4:00. Count on a few Bubbas being on the ridge by 3:00.
See Other Rides for more info on Tuesday rides.
Option 1 – King says let’s chase, but only up to a point. Roll with TB from Falling Water at 8:30 and chase TB up to Sale Creek where we’ll take a left and come back via Back Valley. Kind of what we did last week but in reverse order. 40 miles.
Option 2 – stay tuned
Roll at 8:30 from Falling Water. Brayton climb via Old Dayton and Stormer. (Have I said how much I hate that climb?) Descend Leggett and hopefully someone will pull us home via Back Valley at a comfortable zone 3 pace as JC did last week since it’s gonna be dangerously hot again. A metric and 3700 feet according to RideWGPS, but I believe when we did this four months ago it’s actually like 4200 feet.

Folks, another reminder that TB rides are spirited group rides and that everyone joining has an obligation to the group. If you want to turn up the earbuds and blow through stop lights without worrying about people who got caught by them, or if you want to put your head down and hammer through stop signs and other regrouping points, this isn’t the ride for you and go somewhere else.
