Saturday 5/4

Boxcar BubbaGrass Ride 2019! – Shortcut

TB and Elites will roll from Mountain Cove Farms at 9am where Bub 1 will lead us on some rarely traveled roads for a metric plus. We’ll climb Daugherty Gap right out of the shoot so if you want to start early and wait at the top no one will think badly about you. After the ride stick around for some great bluegrass, beer (BYOB), and grub. While there is a chance of rain Saturday this ride will roll regardless so make your own decision on whether to ride or not (kind of like a Gran Fondo that will remain nameless).

Park @ the MANOR HOUSE (just past the Cove Store)

Same route as TB but a 10 mile shortcut if needed.

Sat. 4/27

Update – Fly will be leading a ride rolling at 8:30 from St Elmo Food City

The good news is that the weather Saturday looks good. The bad news is that most of Elite management is out. For that reason the official Elite ride is the Cleveland Circuit Ride. You can get details at this link http://www.clevelandumc.com/missions/cleveland-circuit-ride/.

For those that can’t make this ride, put your heads together and come up with something better and feel sorry for me as I’m cooped up all morning in a training meeting…

Sat 4/20

Looks like we’re dodging rain again this Saturday and it’s going to be colder too. Roll from Heaven & Ale at 10 am for a similar ride to last Saturday except will climb to the top of Lookout. Only 45 miles but 3,100 feet of climbing.

Keep an eye on website for weather updates.

Sat. 4/13

****UPDATE AT 9:5AM****

Roll from Heaven & Ale at 11am

Still chance of some rain so we’ll probably do the N. Chatt. Hills to stay close to the cars.

Saturday 4/6

So we’re back to something new. Some of you might remember the Big Ralph’s 69th birthday ride back in November. We’ll be doing a slightly shorter version this Saturday and in the opposite direction. Roll from Ridgeland HS at 9:00 am and head south down familiar roads to Hwy 193. Up and over Pigeon Mtn and then from there I don’t know where we are. Use the map if not familiar with this territory. Just under 60 miles and 3,120 feet.

Saturday 3/30

Nothing fancy, nothing new except the starting point. Yes Fly, we’re rolling from Heaven & Ale on Cherokee Blvd at 8:30, over the toe, out Creek Rd, up and over 136 and back via Marble Top (no Humping Dog). See map for complete details especially if you want to jump on as we come through downtown.

Saturday 3/23

Folks have been asking for something different so here we go. Roll at 9am from Heaven & Ale cross the river on Veteran’s bride and out 3rd street to Missionary Ridge like the Holiday Ride. We’ll take a little different way to the Battlefield, cruise down to Chickamauga before heading back north which while on the way we’ll “Take a Powder” loop. Cruise by Bacon’s house and back home. 59 miles and 3,100 feet.

Saturday 3/16

Boss didn’t mention it but yes the divorce is official. We’re back to two Saturday rides. Yeh, it will be chilly Saturday morning but to establish our right to the yellow couch at Heaven & Ale we’ll roll from there at 9:30 and do the Elite 3S3M metric “lite.” Over Suck through the valley and back 299. About 55 miles.

Saturday 3/2 (Meek Memorial Alternative)

For those that can’t make the David Meek Memorial Ride we’ll be offering the following for all comers: Roll from Heaven & Ale on Cherokee Blvd at 9:00am and head over the Toe to Creek Rd. south to Trenton and a little further South to Byrd’s Chapel Road. Head back north by the Trenton Country Club, climb part of Sand and then back via Slygo Gap, etc. Will be back before the UT vs. Kentucky basketball game starts. 59 miles from this starting point but shorter if you jump on somewhere else.

Saturday 2/16

Well when you get an email from Bub One that starts, “Sweetie’s leaving me unsupervised again this weekend,” you know it’s going to be good. Roll from Bub One’s house on Burnt Mill Road at 9 am for what he calls, a “no climb” metric route on mostly familiar roads. While we’ll start from Bub’s house we’ll go north first so if you want to meet us at the intersection of Burnt Mill and Salem Rd. that’s your prerogative, but knowing how we finished his email, “and I have plenty of Beers in the fridge on the back porch for, ya know…after” might change your mind on where you park. Route basically meanders through north Georgia but you might want to check the map especially if you’re not sure where his house is.
