Official Elite ride for Saturday is the Oktoberfest Chattanooga Challenge. Unfortunately if you’ve not registered it’s too late so you’ll have to make your own ride plans for Saturday. For those that are, ride rolls early at 7:30am from Finley Stadium for both the 50 and 100 mile routes. You can pick up your packet Friday from 2pm to 7pm at Finley. Bring your arm warmers as it will be a chilly start. Included is the 50 mile route.

Not sure why, but Rudy has been wanting to ride Sand Mtn. for several weeks. Maybe it’s to visit family or something. Anyway the Elites will head that way Saturday. Roll from the Food City in St. Elmo at 8:30, out 299, up the Goat path. We’ll turn left on Wells Rd. just because I’ve never gone that way before. See map for exact route.

(Mile 38). Several easy ways to shorten the route due to weather or Honey-do-chores. Will roll from Bub One’s house at 8:30 at 1546 Burnt Mill Rd. which is about 3.5 miles south of the St. Elmo Food City. Plenty of parking. 65 miles through some uncharted roads in N. Georgia. No climbs but some tough stingers along the way.
Saturday 8/11/18
Elites will roll at 8:30 from Unum and do the Elite 3S3M metric route. It’s that metric century that’s only 55 miles. For those not familiar with the route we’ll climb Suck Creek Mtn, left through the valley, refuel at the bait store, and return via 299. Route includes the little kicker at Lookout by the Nature Center and for anyone that wants more they can climb all of Lookout.
Saturday Aug. 4th
The official Elite ride for Saturday 8/4 is the Chattanooga Century (formerly known as Prison Prevention Ride). Pick your poison Century or Metric, both are great courses provided there’s not a monster wind out of the north. Click link for details.

Elites will head into Fly territory Saturday. Roll from Ridgeland High School at 8:30 (park in the back) for a 64 mile tour of North Georgia. Some of the roads you might recognize from the Gents ride. All I know is that I’ll have the route loaded in my Garmin, otherwise I’m lost. Store stop either in Lafayette or Rock Springs depending on how we feel. Hopefully Reflectar can ride with us and relive his PR decent down Cora Ann from 4 years ago.
